Construction materials manufacturer, Base Structures, has secured six figure deals to supply customers in Denmark and Kenya.

Bristol-based Base Structures, will supply and install bespoke solutions for its international clients in two deals worth £350,000.

In Denmark a specialist membrane produced by Base Structures will be used for roofing in a social housing project. In Kenya the company will supply 14 tensile tents for a luxury safari camp run by Virgin Limited Edition (Kenya).

The two new contracts represent an expansion of existing international business for Base Structures and Jon Morris, director and head of production at Base Structures commented: “We are delighted that the quality of British workmanship and expertise is being recognised globally.”

Base Structures secured these to new contracts soon after attending the 2012 National Manufacturing Summit, hosted by the Department of Business Innovation and Skills at the Bristol and Bath Science Park.

Mr Morris took the opportunity to advise BIS officials at the event on the actions needed to support more UK SME manufacturers export their products and services to emerging foreign markets.
