LIVE LUNCHTIME DEBATE from the International Automotive Summit

As part of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders international summit, The Manufacturer will broadcast the live lunchtime debate on the TM website.

Panellists at the debate will include Paul Everitt, chief executive of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Richard Parry-Jones, co-chairman of the Automotive Council and Chas Hallett, editor-in-chief of What Car? magazine.

The 2011 summit will be covering topics from retail to the supply chain and from international investment to low carbon technologies, the SMMT International Automotive Summit is again set to be the ‘must attend event’ of the year. Previous Summits saw hundreds of the industry’s most senior executives as well as the country’s top politicians, speaking on some of the key policies affecting the UK and global automotive scene.

This year’s keynote speaker, Ford Group vice president and chairman and CEO of Ford Europe, Stephen T Odell, will discuss the breadth of the company’s activities in the UK and the country’s significance in the wider automotive industry. Calling on his experience of working around the world in senior positions with Ford, Volvo, Mazda and Jaguar, he will illustrate to attendees the reasons why the UK is a prime location for global automotive investment.
