One way to reduce set-up times and increase production in the stamping and forming industry is to use magnetic clamping plates.

Roemheld M-TECS plates precisely and quickly position and fix dies with up to 12 tons clamping force. They are suitable for vertical and horizontal use in machines and for all die sizes and shapes, even non-standardised ones. As the entire clamping surface of a Roemheld M-TECS magnetic plate is metallic, there are no costly standardising of die sizes.

As the system has no moveable components, it is virtually maintenance-free. Almost all stamping machines, presses, injection moulding machines and mould carriers can be easily fitted or retrofitted with the magnetic clamping system and the installation takes just a few hours.

The technology of magnetic clamping plates is based on the principle of a permanent electric magnet, so it is safe even in the event of a power failure.  Power is only required for 1 – 2 seconds to magnetise the plates. Once in operation, the system works independent of power and electricity is only needed when it is time to unclamp the die.
