Machine tools manufacturer Yamazaki Mazak has launched a new generation of its multi-tasking i-series machine, specifically designed for the machining of heavy duty applications across a broad range of industries.

The new INTEGREX i-630V is capable of machining large workpieces, with dimensions up to 1,050mm by 1,000mm and a weight of up to 1,750kg.

The i-630V was developed in response to market requirements for a multi-tasking machine with reduced floorspace, improved rigidity, a compact 5-axis tilting head and a 630mm x 630mm pallet.

Yamazaki Mazak, which operates throughout Europe and employs 500 staff in the UK, was the first company to produce a machine that could complete all turning and machining operations in one – the Done-In-One.

The INTEGREX series was introduced in 1983 and Mazak has sold more than 10,000 since. This latest INTEGREX i-630V has been developed to meet the growing demand to machine large work pieces on a reduced floor space.

Tony Saunders, UK Sales Director for Yamazaki Mazak, commented: “The new INTEGREX i-series is a complete redesign of the previous INTEGREX machine, not just a cosmetic makeover. The new machine offers best-in-class multi-tasking capability with a series of enhancements to the existing highly popular INTEGREX IV series machine.”

He continued: “This will ensure that the i-series is the first choice for those wanting to get into multi-tasking and realise the enormous productivity benefits of Done-In-One.”

The i-630V has many enhanced features including a 10% reduction on power consumption, a higher speed pallet feed and a higher rigidity bearing for improved heavy duty performance.
