Cosworth named The Manufacturer of the Year 2011

The Manufacturer's annual awards came to a close on Wednesday 9th November as high performance engineering firm, Cosworth, took the top honour ahead of strong competition by other category winners such as runner-up, tractor manufacturer New Holland Agriculture, part of the CNH Group.

Close to 50 companies attended the gala awards ceremony held at Lancashire County Cricket Club, Manchester. Richard Noble, CEO and driving force of the Bloodhound SSC world land speed record project, gave a whirlwind, 15 minute presentation on how they got this iconic engineering project into production, one of the highlights of the night.

Winning three awards on the evening, Colin Larkin, plant manager of New Holland Agriculture who form part of CNH UK, was keen to share the accolades with all the team. "Not only was winning the three awards an honour and a delight for myself and the other twenty people who attended the gala dinner, these awards also give great credit to all of the people in my plant. These awards are a summation of the energy, effort and effectiveness that the whole team deliver," he said.

Clare Moss, factory manager at PZ Cussons, commented, "The factory team at PZ Cussons were delighted to have won the award for Operations and Maintenance at The Manufacturer Awards 2011. The awards evening was fantastic, the venue was superb and the speakers inspirational.
