Schaeffler UK's automotive component manufacturing plant in Llanelli, South Wales, has received the Wales Quality Award for the plant’s achievements in manufacturing quality.
The Wales Quality Award is an annual competition open to all companies based in Wales, including manufacturers, financial organisations, service providers, hospitals, educational establishments and local councils.
“I think the Schaeffler plant is now a role model in Wales of what a medium-sized manufacturing plant should be," said Vincent Kane, Chairman of the Wales Quality Centre, the organisation responsible for the Wales Quality Awards. "Areas of excellence include leadership and constancy of purpose, as well as people development and involvement.”
The global Schaeffler company employs 61,000 people at over 180 locations around the globe. With combined group sales of 7.3 billion euros per year, the Schaeffler Group is one of the world's leading rolling bearing manufacturers and automotive component suppliers.
