The Confederation of British Industry’s (CBI’s) Quarterly Industrial Trends survey published yesterday suggest that the decline in output is continuing.
The six-year decline in export orders is also gathering pace again, following only moderate falls reported earlier in the year.
UK companies plan to cut investment in buildings, plant and machinery over the next twelve months, maintaining a four year trend of planned reductions.
Despite this, however, companies expect orders and output to increase over the next four months.
