UK merger halted

British Biotech has vowed to continue looking for a merger partner after abandoning plans to merge with MorphosSys, a German biotechnology group.
No reasons were given for the collapse of the deal, but Elliot Goldstein, British Biotech’s chief executive, told The Times that the proposed merger: “would not have provided the kind of value creation we were looking for for our shareholders, so we called it off.”
