Employers to bear cost of asbestos safety

As if life were not already difficult enough for employers, the government announced yesterday that the £1.5 billion cost of implementing new rules on asbestos safety would have to be borne by business.

All owners of non-residential property will have to assess the level of asbestos in their buildings and decide what remedial work is necessary.
