Almost 600,000 Ford Focus cars have been recalled due to safety issues.
Since the launch of the Ford Focus in 1999 there has been 11 recalls for the car. The current recall refers to a loose bolt in the front suspension of cars released in 2000 and 2001, mainly in the US and Canada, but also in other countries. Ford vice president for environment and safety engineering, Sue Cischke stated: “We are serious about improving not just the quality of the new Focus, but also the reliability of Focus cars from prior model years.”
The recall comes not long after safety concerns relating to the Ford Explorer’s involvement in several rollover crashes.
