The Anglo-French engineering group, Alstom is near to selling its UK property portfolio to St Modwen Properties.
The deal, worth more than £100 million, will help Alstom reduce its £1.28 billion debt. The shopping centre and racecourse developer, St Modwen is thought to be in negotiations for a sale and leaseback deal to Alstom for up to 20 plants working with the company on alterations to its factories in the future. St Modwen has previously completed similar deals with Corus and Marconi.
