Boost for UK manufacturing

More than 200 jobs are being created at three firms which supply a washing machine factory in north Wales.
Technoplast, Pasell and Tuscarora will supply the Merloni plant, at Kinmel Park, in Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire. The three firms are setting up plants near the Merloni factory, which produces almost a million Hotpoint brand machines a year.
The companies will invest more than £16 million and recruit 216 workers between them.
Technoplast, part of an Italian-owned group which specialises in producing moulded plastic parts for industry, will spend £10.5 million to establish a production unit at Kinmel Park, creating jobs for 133 people.
Another Italian-owned company, Pasell, which supplies Merloni with counterweights for its washing machines, is investing £5 million at a site in Sandycroft, Flintshire, and will employ 68 people.
Swedish firm Tuscarora is investing nearly £1m to make packaging material on site and will employ 15 workers.
