Conquest Business Media, publisher of Industry magazine since September 1996, launched its sister publication The Manufacturer four years ago, to compete with a long established clutch of trade publications it believed had gone stale.
Time has proved its point and The Manufacturer is now ready to bring a fresh approach to the exhibition world with The Manufacturer Expo 2002.
In addition to the exhibition itself, the expo will feature a uniquely designed programme of interactive, end user and case history-led seminar/workshops, centred on the four key themes of Enterprise IT Applications, Supply Chain Management, Lean Manufacturing and Manufacturing Strategy.
Conquest has been effectively ‘locked out’ of Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre for daring to put on an event in competition with the established but thinning annual Computers in Manufacturing (CIM) exhibition, so the new two-day event on September 25 and 26, 2002 will take place in the freshly refurbished International Centre in Telford (fittingly, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution).
“We recognise that maintaining brand presence is no longer a good enough reason to invest in any medium, let alone an exhibition which has too many unempowered people collecting plastic bags and pamphlets,” said Conquest managing director Glen White. “We know from our experience with The Manufacturer that new business leads are critical to our customers’ business plan. We guarantee to deliver the same results to our exhibition customers through our investment in our dedicated call centre and database.”
Conquest has already signed up a number of major players and is in negotiation with other major IT, thought-leadership and change management organisations about their involvement in The Manufacturer Expo 2002, which is set to become the UK’s leading manufacturing event.
