Tate & Lyle, the world-leading sugar and sweetner group, has announced that overall trading performance is continuing to meet expectations.
Tate & Lyle’s new zero-calorie, low-carbohydrate sweetener Sucralose has boosted performance levels, the company said.
Demand for Sucralose has remained very strong with production running at full capacity and is continuing to meet expectations since its last update on 25 January 2005.
Sucralose’s good performance has offset both lower sweetener margins in Europe and the impact of higher cost export licences of sugars in Europe.
Tate & Lyle’s preliminary announcement of results for the year ending 31 March 2005 will be made on 2 June 2005.
