Manufacturers have welcomed National Director for Health & Safety at Work, Professor Black
Britain's manufacturers have welcomed the appointment of National Director for Occupational Health & Safety at Work, believing that it represents a major step in tackling the increasingly key issues of rehabilitation and sickness absence.
EEF, the manufacturers organisation believes that the appointment of Professor Black will help improve joined up thinking and links between the National Health Service, the Royal Colleges and employers, improving health in the workplace and tackling inequalities.
Commenting on the appointment, Professor Sayeed Khan, Chief Medical Adviser of EEF, the manufacturers organisation said:
"This appointment will help drive the step change that is needed by both employers and individuals towards health issues in the workplace. There remains a significant culture gap to bridge in tackling sickness absence and how we can get people back to work more effectively."
