Airbus cuts 1600 UK jobs

Airbus has confirmed that 10,000 European jobs will be axed after talks with union officials.
The aircraft manufacturer, which has been in and out of headlines in recent months, has today confirmed that a total of 10,000 jobs will be lost throughout Europe.
Airbus currently employs 57,000 in Europe, with 11,000 employees based in the UK at sites in Filton, Bristol and Broughton in north Wales. According to reports, the UK will see approximately 1600 workers lose their jobs at both Filton and Broughton over the course of a four-year period.
The troubled manufacturer had hit hard times after delays in the production of its flagship superjumbo the A380.
