Jaguar’s Browns Lane site is sold

Australian property giant, Macquarie Goodman, is to turn the majority of Jaguar’s Browns Lane site into a new office and warehousing park.
Ford, the parent company of luxury car-maker Jaguar, has announced the sale of 100 acres of the 117 acre Jaguar Browns Lane site to Macquarie Goodman for an undisclosed sum.
Macquarie Goodman plans to turn the site into an office and warehousing park which and create 1500 jobs at the site.
The remaining 17 acres at Browns Lane will be retained by Jaguar as its wood veneering facility employing 400 staff.
Jaguar ended production at Browns Lane in 2005 after 53 years at the site. A previous deal for the sale of the site fell through in 2006 when construction company Delmar failed to meet a funding deadline.
Jaguar, which is part of Ford’s Premier Automotive Group (PAG), has plants at Castle Bromwich, in Birmingham, Whitley in Coventry, Halewood in Liverpool and Gaydon in Warwickshire.
