Manufacturing suffered a further blow yesterday as another UK factory announced that it will be closing its doors.
Clingfilm manufacturer Linpac Plastics has said that its Sedgefield plant in County Durham will be closing its film production plant with a loss of 50 jobs next month.
The company has blamed tough trading and market conditions for its decision.
The announcement came after two other manufacturers in the north-east, South West Durham Steelcraft and Volante Public Transportation Interior Systems also released information on their closure.
Linpac Plastics is currently speaking with its staff over the redundancies.
