The BMW Hams Hall plant has passed a milestone.
The BMW Hams Hall plant has passed a milestone which underlies its growing importance to the international production network of the BMW Group as a centre of competence for four-cylinder engines. One million engines have now been manufactured in the seven years since production began in January 2001. Within hours of coming off the assembly line the built-to-order engine was shipped to the BMW assembly plant in Leipzig, Germany, one of six assembly plants in five different countries to which the UK plant supplies engines just-in-sequence for BMW and MINI brand vehicles.
