Cimnet releases next-generation MES at Manufacturing Week

Software developer Cimnet has used XML technology to create Factelligence, a configurable MES product announced at last month’s National Manufacturing Week.

Factelligence has twelve MES modules, each of which plug into the core XML (eXtensible Markup Language) data conduit to provide specific functionality for verticals, allowing manufacturers to quickly adapt the product to their needs.

Each module provides its own MES rules, configuration tools, and real-time metrics. The product includes a Web-based manager’s portal, plus interfaces for operators, supervisors, and system administrators.

The Production Manager module records production of goods, including product scrapping and serial number recording. Supervisors can access the module via Web browser to adjust production plans and immediately broadcast the new schedule to shop-floor operators.

The Product Definition Manager is used to define detailed bill of materials, recipes, product specifications, and documentation. It has full revision control and security. The Tracking Manager records material consumption, lot genealogy, shop-floor inventory, and work in progress.

Other modules include Labor and Shift Manager, Procedure Step Manager, Machine Utilization Manager, Folders Manager, Certification Manager, Datalog Manager, Supply Chain Connector, and Factory Connector.
