Integrating product design with supply chain

PlanetCAD’s SCS/Envoy is the first application to enable product design data to be integrated into the decisionmaking process throughout the manufacturing supply chain.
Tools within SCS/Envoy allow engineering data to be quickly and securely distributed to authorized participants. “Having immediate access to product design data when you receive the RFQ or other supply chain documentation results in faster and more accurate business decisions,” says Jim Bracking, PlanetCAD president and CEO.
SCS/Envoy replaces many manual tasks undertaken by design engineers, procurement managers, and purchasing staff, including translation of 2D and 3D design data, selection and grouping of product information for distribution, downloading of data onto media such as CDs, shipping and handling the media, and receipt and downloading of data from shipped media. SCS/Envoy transmits such data instantaneously, while transparently performing data translation, downloading, and tracking.
