ERP for metal and high tech manufacturers

The recently announced Mapics Metal Manufacturing Solution is an ERP application that takes into consideration the special requirements of metal manufacturers, including the need to check the status and history of every metal under their control.
According to Mapics, the product offers access to real-time, shop-floor information, collects product and packaging specs, tracks metal quality information and transaction efficiency, and provides reports with scheduling information, profitability analysis, and run histories. Mapics also markets the Mapics High Tech Manufacturing Solution, which was recently chosen by Xanoptix, a manufacturer of next-generation optoelectronics. Xanoptix needs to be able to monitor and integrate both internal and external manufacturing processes to manage their device fabrication and module assembly operations.
