Smart Software is now shipping Version 5.2 of their Windows-based SmartForecasts software, which includes improved data management capabilities, the ability to access databases in different locations via the Web, and expanded promotion modeling capabilities.
The new version allows users to scrub data to clean up its content and to sort large multidimensional data tables. For retailers and other businesses that experience intermittent slow-moving demand for their products, SmartForecasts 5.2 can accurately forecast their items, reducing the risk of over-inflating inventories or stocking out of key items.
Version 5.2 is available in an Enterprise edition, which can accurately forecast an unlimited number of product items at a rate of 100,000 items per hour and includes intermittent demand forecasting. The Commercial edition can forecast up to 1,000 items. Both editions are available for Windows 95, 98, NT, and 2000 and support both OBDC and native database connectivity.
Both editions include send-to e-mail for collaborative planning, Automatic Trend Hedging for forecasting new and aging products, multidimensional data tables, and full Microsoft Excel support.
