Aerospace systems supplier Goodrich Corporation has been selected by aerospace giant Boeing to provide laser altimeters for their X-45 Joint-Unmanned Combat Air Systems.
The award is expected to generate approximately $15 million in revenues over the life of the program.
The Goodrich altimeter would provide accurate altitude measurements using an eye-safe laser, which results in more precise landings and a reduction in the possibility of vehicle or payload damage. The X-45 J-UCAS is being developed for US Air Force and US Navy programs.
