Ford, the second-largest US automaker, and Palo Alto, CA-based computer-hardware maker Hewlett-Packard have signed an imaging and printing services contract worth $100 million.
Hewlett-Packard sources place the value of the contract at $100 million, according to Reuters. The agreement builds upon an existing contract signed last October that is now valued at $650 million, said Hewlett Packard in a statement.
Under the agreement, Hewlett-Packard will consolidate and integrate Ford's printers, fax machines and other hardware purchased from Hewlett-Packard, its rival Xerox, and other companies. The integration will involve Hewlett-Packard hardware, software, supplies and services.
The deal will affect 15,000 users at Ford and involve more than 15,000 devices in Ford offices in the United States and Europe.
