Alliant Techsystems gets $24.6 million ammunition order from US Army

Edina, MN-based Alliant Techsystems, the largest US ammunition supplier, announced that it has received a $24.6 million small-caliber ammunition order for the US Department of Defense.
The order came from the US Army Joint Munitions Command in Rock Island, IL. The ammunition will be produced by Alliant Techsystems’ Lake City Small Caliber Ammunition Company, at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO.
Alliant Techsystems’ Ammunition and Related Products Group, of which the Small Caliber Ammunition Company is a part, produces more than one billion rounds of small-caliber and medium-caliber military ammunition annually.
