An arms-manufacturing unit of Falls Church, VA-based defense contractor General Dynamics received a $66.6 million order from the US Army Aviation and Missile Command for the production of unguided rockets, motors and warheads for the US Army, Air Force, Navy and foreign military customers.
The rockets will be able to be fired from a wide range of aircraft, including the US Army Apache and US Marine Corps Cobra attack helicopters, as well as the US Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon and combat aircraft of nations worldwide.
This order extends deliveries through 2006 on a contract originally awarded to General Dynamics in 1999. The total contract value to date is $960 million. Final assembly and component sub-assembly is to be performed at General Dynamics' Camden, AR, and McHenry, MS, facilities.
General Dynamics employs approximately 67,600 people worldwide and had 2003 revenue of $16.6 billion.
