Chicago, IL-based aerospace giant Boeing has selected Windsor Locks, CT-based aerospace systems manufacturer Hamilton Sundstrand to provide another major system for its 7E7 passenger plane.
Boeing’s 7E7 Dreamliner aircraft is expected to enter into service in 2008. The new system Hamilton Sundstrand will provide will be the primary power distribution system that controls, protects and distributes electrical power on the aircraft.
In February, Boeing selected Hamilton Sundstrand to supply the environmental control system, the electric power generating and start system, the remote power distribution system and the auxiliary power unit for the 7E7. Together, these systems represent a potential value exceeding $5.5 billion over the life of the program.
Hamilton Sundstrand employs about 16,000 workers worldwide, with its largest facilities in Windsor Locks, CT, and Rockford, IL.
