Lockheed Martin announces sale of COMSAT General

Lockheed Martin Corporation has announced that they will sell their COMSAT General business to Intelsat, Ltd., a worldwide provider of satellite communications services.

Lockheed Martin Corporation has announced that they will sell their COMSAT General business to Intelsat, Ltd., a worldwide provider of satellite communications services. Through the acquisition, Intelsat will obtain all of COMSAT General's existing contracts. The purchase, totaling $90 million in cash, will be subject to regulatory approval.

In addition, Intelsat has agreed to purchase an Atlas launch vehicle from Lockheed Martin Commercial Launch Services, Inc. for a future satellite launch.

Lockheed Martin's COMSAT General business is a provider of satellite telecommunications services and equipment, concentrating on international fixed and mobile satellite systems.
