Darleen Druyun, a former Boeing employee and US Air Force acquisition official, pleaded guilty to conspiracy in April.
Druyun has been under investigation for discussing getting a job with Chicago, IL-based aerospace giant Boeing with a Boeing official while she was still a US Air Force official overseeing Boeing’s business deals with the Air Force—including a controversial $23.5 billion lease deal for 100 Boeing 767s. Druyun could face up to five years in prison and a substantial fine.
Former Boeing chief financial officer Michael Sears, who hired Druyun after she retired from the Air Force, is still under investigation by prosecutors. Druyun and Sears were both fired by Boeing in November 2003 for violating ethics rules. Boeing CEO Philip M. Condit resigned shortly thereafter.
