Camden, NJ-based Campbell Soup Company's profit rose 10 percent in its third fiscal quarter, the company reported today.
The company earned $142 million during the three months that ended in May, compared to $129 million during the same period in 2003. Total sales were $1.67 billion in the quarter, up 4.2 percent from $1.6 billion a year earlier.
"Despite lower US soup sales in the third quarter, the year-to-date performance of US soup demonstrates continued progress," said Campbell's President and CEO Douglas R. Conant, in a statement.
