Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has delayed a decision whether to lease 100 KC-135 refueling tankers from Boeing.
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has delayed a decision whether to lease 100 KC-135 refueling tankers from Boeing.
Boeing states that the delay in the decision does not mean the company must shut down the production line right away as additional orders have been received.
Two studies have been commissioned by the Defense Science Board’s Aerial Refueling Task Force to look into the need for new tankers. Secretary Rumsfeld has asked that these studies be completed by November 2004.
