reported in transportation equipment manufacturing (-10,689 workers), computer and electronic product manufacturing (-3,610 workers), plastic and rubber products manufacturing (-2,853 workers), and machinery manufacturing (-2,710 workers).

The number of events was the lowest for any April since 2001, and the number of initial claims was the lowest for April since 2000.
