Shell Martinez Refinery awards $5.3 million contract to Honeywell

The Shell Martinez Refinery, which refines and markets petroleum products under the Shell and Texaco brands, has awarded manufacturer Honeywell a $5.3 million contract to modernize the refinery’s Flexicoker refining unit.
Under the terms of the agreement, Honeywell will install a process control system and provide engineering and construction services. The automation project will enable the Shell Martinez Refinery to upgrade existing controls and maintain plant operations.
The Honeywell automation system technology provides multivariable control, batch control, plant-wide history and information management in a unified system.
Honeywell International is a $23 billion diversified manufacturer of aerospace products, control technologies for buildings, homes and industry, automotive products, turbochargers and specialty materials.
