Precision Castparts to sell two businesses

Jet engine component maker Precision Castparts announced that it plans to sell its pump and valve businesses.
The businesses are part of the company’s Fluid Management Products segment, and will be shifted into discontinued operations in the second quarter of its 2005 fiscal year.
According to Precision Castparts, Swiss company Sulzer Pumps Ltd. has agreed to buy the pump businesses for about $36 million.
