In a move believed by analysts to be symptomatic of a trend towards strategic alliances among companies offering logistics services, FKI Logistex and Manhattan Associates are teaming up to offer their customers better integration between order processing and warehouse management.
The two companies plan to create a standard toolkit to provide joint clients with better compatibility between Danville, KY-based FKI's material handling automation systems and Atlanta, GA-based Manhattan's PkMS warehouse management system. This software "bridge" will mean faster implementation times and risk reduction, since product interfaces and company procedures will be shared by Manhattan and FKI.
