The Royal Danish Air Force is the first to field a next-generation electronic warfare simulator developed by San Diego-based Cubic Corporation.
The High Density Signal Simulator (HIDESS) tests the ability of an aircraft to engage all known radar threats. The simulator provides a realistic environment where operators can learn to recognize multiple signals, including hostile, neutral and friendly radar signals.
The formal tests were completed last month. HIDESS is now operational at the RDAF facility at Karup Air Base, Denmark.
