Business software company Oracle announced that Harry You, Oracle's chief financial officer, has resigned from his position, after only eight months, to become the chief executive officer of BearingPoint, a 16,000 person consultancy and outsourcing firm.
Oracle copresident Safra Catz will be acting CFO until a new CFO can be identified and hired.
"We are proud of the numerous Oracle alumni that have gone on to become CEOs of enterprise software and IT service firms," said Oracle CEO Larry Ellison in a statement. "We wish Harry good fortune in his new job and look forward to partnering with him and BearingPoint for years to come."
Oracle recently acquired fellow software maker PeopleSoft in a $10.3 billion deal in December 2004. The deal created the largest business software company after market leader SAP, with whom Oracle is currently locked in a bidding war to acquire retail software maker Retek.
