Semiconductor producer LSI Logic Corporation today announced that its board of directors has appointed former Intel VP Abhi Y. Talwalkar as the company’s new president and chief executive officer.
At Intel, Talwalkar served as vice president and co-general manager of Intel’s Digital Enterprise Group. He has more than 20 years of management and engineering experience in the semiconductor industry, including positions in research, product development and marketing.
Talwalkar succeeds Wilfred J. Corrigan, LSI Logic’s founder, as CEO. Under Corrigan’s direction, the company grew from a startup with $6 million in venture capital to one generating revenues of nearly $2 billion per year.
