Canadian manufacturer to build two plants in South Carolina

Canadian engineered wood manufacturer Grant Forest Products annpunced plans to invest more than $400 million to build two US plants and add 240 jobs in South Carolina.
The 240 new jobs will be split between two plants in Allendale and Clarendon counties. The plant in Allendale is expected to open late next year, with the Clarendon plant breaking ground six months later.
Grant Forest Products is a North American leader in the manufacture of oriented strand board panels, an engineered wood product made from adhesives and multiple layers of wood strands. Its employee base of roughly 700 operates three production facilities in Ontario and Alberta, Canada.
