The $752 million contract, awarded by the US Air Force, calls for Raytheon to provide Taiwan with an early warning radar surveillance system.
The system will enable the Taiwan Air Force to detect and track long- and short-range ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, air breathing targets, and surface ships.
"Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems has a proven track record of providing phased-array, early warning radars that work first time, every time, to the US government and its allies. We're proud to be selected to partner with the US Air Force to provide Taiwan with an early warning capability that will be a key element of its integrated air and missile defense system," said Dan Martin, vice president, Surveillance & Sensor Systems, Integrated Defense Systems. Contract fulfillment will take place in Sudbury and Andover, MA; Huntsville, AL; and other locations.
