Web-Based Portal for Aftermarket Distributors

Concentric's new portal, Concentric Mp, is a Web self-service customer tool that can be integrated with a manufacturer's CRM system.
The tool will enable aftermarket distributors to access multiple manufacturer's real-time customer service information through a single Web site location. Distributors will be able to place orders, check on inventory availability, track current order status, and receive product update information.
For manufacturers who have a CRM application installed, Corcentric Mp will host a link directly to their system to make Web-based business easier for their customers. Manufacturers without a CRM system can use Corcentric Mp's module interface, which will allow them to process customer service requirements via the Internet (using real-time XML), virtual real-time EDI, or database replication, depending in the capabilities of their systems.
Corcentric, which develops and hosts online trading communities for the automotive and heavy-duty truck industry, says the new tool will be available in the first quarter of 2002. According to Chuck Floto, president, Corcentric Mp will allow suppliers to better serve their customers by being more responsive - allocation the demands placed on call centres to allow more rapid response. Floto also believes that the tool will help to reduce the the escalating labour costs associated with increased customer demands on customer service centers.
