The United States Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) selected ODIN technologies to deploy passive RFID equipment throughout 26 facilities globally by the end of 2007. The award is up to a maximum of $7,000,000.
ODIN triumphed in a field of eleven bidders.
The objective of the contract is to have all Defense Distribution Centers capable of receiving incoming shipments tagged with passive RFID. Since 2005, the DLA has required some suppliers to add RFID tags to cases and pallets of select military supplies being shipped to two of its busiest distribution centers. The intent of the contract is to extend the RFID capability to all distribution centers worldwide. The contract will enable the use of passive RFID tags broadly within the military supply chain.
