Ingersoll Rand Wadco in India gets environmental, health and safety kudos

Ingersoll Rand Wadco has, it appears achieved the "triple bottom line" of profit, environmentalism and corporate responsibility.
Ingersoll Rand Wadco Tools Private Limited in Sahibabad, India, was recently certified as conforming to the standards of the ISO 14001 Environmental and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety management systems.
The facility, which manufactures pneumatic tools, fluid handling systems and assembly automation equipment for Productivity Solutions, is the first Ingersoll Rand facility in India to be certified for OHSAS 18001.
Intertek Quality Registrar of Mumbai, a business unit of Intertek plc U.K., performed the certifications.
The manufacturing facility also has been re-certified for ISO 9001:2000 (QMS), which has been upgraded to cover the Trading Warehouse and West/South Zone Sales office in Mumbai.
ISO certification ensures that a business is following internationally accepted standards in areas such as environmental safety and quality control.
These certifications are an outcome of dedicated teamwork by all employees at the facility.
"This is an important milestone in our journey toward Operational Excellence, and signifies our commitment to environmental, safety and health initiatives," said Rajender Kumar Arora, management representative - Quality Management System, of Ingersoll Rand Wadco Tools.
