TRW has announced it will be supplying the drive system for the weapons bay doors on the US Joint Strike Fighter.
The contract, awarded by Northrup Grumman, covers the systems development and demonstration phase and is valued at $21 million. The total program value is expected to exceed $650 million. “This win demonstrates TRW’s strong technology capability, having the right team, world-class manufacturing processes, and the experience to meet stringent customer requirements,” said Mike Gardiner, vice president of product and technology development.
