The delegate list for Manufacturer 2002, to be held September 25 and 26 in Telford, UK, reads like a Who’s Who of the manufacturing sector, with representatives from companies such as Rolls-Royce, 3M, Aston Martin, BAE, Alcan, Bayer, Kodak, BASF, Revlon, and Land Rover signed up.
An alliance of 100 leading manufacturers, to be launched when BBC Radio 4’s John Humphrys opens the show with a live debate, has drawn significant commercial sponsorship from SAP. The software giant has also put its name on one of four Masterclasses—on supply chain management, lean manufacturing, IT applications, and management strategy—that will run throughout the two-day event.
The classes will be led by industry and academic gurus including Fortune magazine’s US manufacturing hero Anand Sharma; Professor Michael Sweeney from Cranfield University (which is also supporting the show’s Manufacturing Campus); Stewart Kelly, global supply chain director at chemicals giant Flexsys; and Frank Steer, director general of the Institute of Quality Assurance and incoming president of the European Organization for Quality.
Exhibitors with confirmed space bookings amid the 50-stand International Centre hall include Navision, Exel Computer Systems, Acta Technologies, IGUS, TXT e-solutions, Demand Solutions Europe, Via Networks, MCP Management Consultants, and IBS.
