LINKÖPING, Sweden, Nov. 9, 2006 - Enterprise software giant IFS has announced it is forming an advisory council of global experts, called the Food and Beverage Advisory Council (FABAC).
FABAC provides the platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among IFS, its food and beverage customers, and leading industry experts. The move is strategic on IFS' part, which believes the dialogue and cooperation among leading companies in this industry will help IFS maintain its market-leading position in business software for the food and beverage industry.
The food and beverage industry is one of IFS' key targeted markets worldwide. IFS Applications for the food and beverage industry provides support for all critical business processes, including batch balancing, recipe management, quality management, and demand planning, supporting domain-specific needs such as multiple units of measure and catch weight. The application suite includes a complete asset and product lifecycle management solution.
"From its inception, IFS has aimed to be closer to its customers and their business needs," said IFS CEO Alastair Sorbie. "Industry advisory councils demonstrate this commitment and the strong industry focus that makes IFS a unique alternative in the business software market. IFS is a company that listens to its customers and has the global reach and development agility to respond to their needs."
"FABAC provides a forum for our food and beverage customers to share experiences and discuss issues important to their industry," said Anders Lif, Global Industry Director for Process Industries at IFS and chairperson of FABAC. "At the same time, it enables IFS to gain valuable feedback from our customers as we continue to enhance our industry-focused solution for food and beverage."
"We're pleased that IFS has chosen food and beverage as an industry on which to focus," said Allan Latts, Director of Corporate Planning for IFS customer Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., and a founding member of FABAC. "We appreciate this opportunity to provide input into the development of future IFS functionality designed specifically for our industry."
IFS customers in the food and beverage industry include Iams, Heaven Hill Distilleries, Bronco Wine, Kettle Foods, Harry's Fresh Foods, Tazo Tea, Boyd Coffee, Apffels Coffee, Diamond Pet Foods, PFX Pet Supply, and Old Mother Hubbard (United States); Nature's Path Foods, Bridor, and Canbra Foods (Canada); Pepsi Shanghai (China); V&S Absolut Spirits, Cloetta-Fazer, Norrmejerier, and Polarbröd (Sweden); Chingford Fruit and Butcher's Pet Care (UK); DE-VAU-GE Gesundkostwerk GmbH (Germany); and Serpeska (Spain).
