SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Nov. 17, 2006 — Autodesk, Inc. today announced its sponsorship of the inaugural Congress on the Future of Engineering Software (COFES) India Summit hosted by Cyon Research Corporation. The historic event will assemble more than 60 of the world’s CAD industry leaders in New Delhi November 17-18, 2006.
The purpose of the landmark summit is to define the critical issues facing the engineering software industry within the specific context of India. The event marks a successful extension of the U.S-based COFES annual events, which have been the most important gathering place for the engineering software industry since 2000. Each year, 275 industry leaders, users, vendors, executives, consultants, and press meet and share their insights of the future of engineering, design, manufacturing and CAD-related applications.
The COFES India Summit marks the first meeting point between the executives of the world’s largest software developers and the top leaders of the Indian engineering and technical community. Robert “Buzz” Kross, vice president of Manufacturing Solutions at Autodesk commented, “COFES Summits have been fundamental in growing the manufacturing community and promoting discussion within the industry and we’re pleased to continue our partnership with this event. With significant engineering innovation taking place in Asia, the time has come for meaningful dialogue in an international context.”
“We are grateful for Autodesk’s significant partnership supporting the COFES India Summit,” says Cyon Research CEO and President Brad Holtz. “The tremendous interest in this initial venture abroad bodes well for the future and a possible annual COFES Asia event.”
