NOVI, Mich., Oct. 25, 2006 – MAHLE Powertrain LLC today announced that, to meet increased customer demand, the company has added super ultra-low emissions vehicle (SULEV) testing capabilities to its service offering. The testing services are available immediately through the company’s Novi, Mich., facility.

“The addition of this testing capability to our emissions lab puts us ahead of our competitors in the vehicle emissions development and certification testing market,” said Alan McEwan, business development director for MAHLE Powertrain. “Added to the all-wheel drive capability we have had for the last few years, this gives us the capability to undertake most vehicle emission tests our customers may require.”

This addition complements the services Mahle Powertrain currently offers in the engines and vehicle testing market – everything from basic engine mechanical and durability testing through to complex fully automated mapping of gasoline and alternate fuel engines, diesel engine testing and full vehicle emissions testing.

The MAHLE Group acquired Cosworth Technology in 2005, a consultant and major supplier of powertrain and diagnostic engineering services to the global automotive industry, and created MAHLE Powertrain. It employs 600 people at its offices in Novi, Mich., and Northampton, Wellingborough and Worcester in the United Kingdom.

MAHLE Powertrain is unique in the automotive engineering supply business in its wide blend of capabilities, which extend from engineering services in powertrain design, development and systems integration, with end-of-line and diagnostic engineering services and systems, through to complete engine manufacturing, including the casting and machining of major engine components.

The MAHLE Group is a leading global manufacturer of base engine components and filter systems. With approx. 37,500 employees in more than 80 production locations and in 7 research and development centers, MAHLE expects, in 2006, a turnover of approximately 4.3 billion EUR (5.2 billion USD) and therefore ranks among the 30 largest suppliers in the automotive industry worldwide.
