Toyota's Prius champion dies in plane accident

Nov 27 - A sad note from Toyota Motor Corp., that David W. Hermance, 59, who has spearheaded the Prius hybrid vehicle program, died Saturday.
Hermance was piloting a small aircraft, and crashed into the ocean near San pedro, Calif. while executing some stunt maneuvers. Hermance and the Prius are largely credited with spurring hybrid sales in the US, among Toyota and its competitors.
